Common Questions
- Do I need a PowerLink?
- It depends. If your gate will be a terminal end of the fence, you don’t need a PowerLink. Use the included stainless steel clip to power the gate.
A PowerLink is useful when your gate is positioned between two electric fences. It’s an insulated “jumper” that allows you to enter or exit the paddock without turning off the energizer. Simply unfasten the PowerLink’s alligator clamp before using the gate. Don’t forget to reconnect it when you’re done!
- Does it work with Pos/Neg Netting?
- No. However, it does work with all of our Pos/Pos standard netting.
Precautions
Warning! Due to risk of fire, do NOT use continuous output energizers with electric netting or electro-plastic conductors such as rope, twine or tape. Use only with a low or wide impedance intermittent pulse energizer. (Fi-Shock™ brand energizers which are sold as low impedance, continuous current output should NOT be used with electric netting.) All energizers sold on Premier’s website use an intermittent pulse and are suitable for use with electric netting.
Dry conditions and wintertime usage may reduce the effectiveness of electric netting. We do not recommend the use of electric netting during harsh winter conditions—ice and heavy snow can flatten netting and thereby damage it.
Dry or frozen ground may cause post spikes to bend or break if inserted with force. Pilot holes may be needed.

Love the gate. However, if I had continued trying to use the supplied allen wrench to put it together, I’d still be putting it together! I ended up using a drill with a star bit.
It is a bit annoying to open but not anywhere near as much of a hassle as the saggy gate so…

I have a love-hate relationship with this gate. I love the structure of it compared to the old gates that sagged. It took maybe 5 minutes to assemble.
However, I hate the way it latches. You have to lift the gate up and over one of the anchor rods. It needs to have a handle like the other gates that slips up and over to lock it in place. The pictures are not fully clear on how this gate shuts. I gave up doing it that way after getting shocked and put a bungee cord on it.

These work GREAT!

This is the second gate we have purchased, and they are awesome! I never have to turn the power for the fence off or on. Will be buying more.

This “easy gate” is anything but easy. I spent over an hour trying to put it together, and the pre-installed screws seemed too long and too big for the holes. I had to use so much force to try to get them screwed in that one of the screws stripped. Also, the gate would not operate as designed because the screws were IMPOSSIBLE to install all the way into the holes, and they rubbed on the poles. I had to take it apart (another hour and more stripped screws). I tried to email customer service about this and NEVER got a response, so I returned the item. Now I’m trying to get word on my refund, and again, ZERO response back. I’m disappointed because I love my electric poultry netting fence, but had no idea that customer service was so bad!!! Hoping I don’t have any further issues because it doesn’t look like I’d ever be able to get any customer service response.
