EcoReel™ XL Wind-up System
Product Details
New! A low-cost reel for winding, unwinding and storing electric fence conductors. Extra spool width (vs. our standard EcoReel™) adds capacity for long fence lines.
- Complete system includes metal support frame with neck strap and spool with wind-up knob
- Saves time! Much faster than using the hand/elbow method of winding
- Spring-loaded cam latch locks the reel into place to maintain tension
- Keep valuable conductors tidy and untangled
EcoWinder (sold separately) is compatible with all power drills to speed wind-up.

Benefits
- Easier to use than New Zealand-style reels because the reel itself is supported by a strap around the neck instead of a hand. This allows you to wind the reel with one hand while using the other hand to remove and install posts.
- Requires fewer rotations to wind up 1,000 ft than other reels because the spool has a large inner circumference. A spring-loaded cam latch locks the reel in place when not in use.
- Extends life by allowing fence conductors to be stored inside when not in use.
- Hang the EcoReel™ XL in the field by using wood or steel T-post brackets (sold separately).

How To Use
- Use the neck strap to help support the weight of the reel.
- Insert rope or twine through the hole in the side of the reel. Tie off with a knot to prevent it from pulling through. If using a thick (6mm+) or tape conductor, use a piece of packing tape to hold the conductor to the spool.
- Slowly wind the reel by hand or with the EcoWinder to prevent the conductor from slipping.
- After several passes increase winding speed until the desired amount of conductor is on the reel.
- Insert the EcoWinder into the side of the reel with the knob
- Set the power tool to the desired direction for winding
- Activate the drill and wind until done

Lightweight and economical reels. I own several of these and never had an issue.

We have tried all kinds of reels and because we do not enjoy a geared reel we tried these out. After using them for a year we are back for more. What we liked about this reel is the lightweight and has tall sides which helps keep the poly braid on track. Oh, and I have to mention Premier’s service department and their excellent work. Our first order came and had been damaged by a forklift during shipping. In just a couple of emails the problem was solved. Great service!

These black plastic reels are not made as robustly as the EZE reels used to be. The sides of the reels crack and break as the thickness of the sides of the reels appear to be thinner and more cheaply built. I have had to replace several that are only 2 years old and have to replace the frame and reel assembly as replacement reels only are not available. I have also had one center plastic (that holds the reel parts together) bushing break. The footprint of the frame assembly on the ECO XL reels is wider than the EZE XL reels.
